about

The Actions are a Bristol-based genre-bending duo formed by Marta Argenio and Mo Stellato. They have built a consistent live presence with past support slots for R.E.M., Green Day, Garbage, The Distillers and Vasco Rossi, plus deep roots in London’s grassroots circuit (headlining or supporting at The Underworld, Water Rats, Dublin Castle, The Lexington, Sebright Arms, 93 Feet East, Rich Mix, O2Academy2 Islington and The Unicorn).
Their first album ‘Real’ was initially released in Latin America via the Brazilian label Nikita Music/iMusica, then published by Warner Chappell in the rest of the world. Their very first single ‘The Real Thing’ was remixed by Planet Funk and firstly championed by Pete Tong in his ‘Essential Selection’ show on BBC Radio 1 and then, the original version, was included in the soundtrack of the MTV USA slasher movie ‘My Super Psycho Sweat 16’ alongside Limp Bizkit and Chumbawamba, Blending dark electronics with driving rock, The Actions have received press support from Clash Magazine, Nothing But Hope and Passion and Visions Magazine, alongside airplay from BBC Radio 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, Amazing Radio’s Simon Raymonde, Matt Baty, and John Kennedy on Radio X.
Their second album Flourish, conceived during the pandemic and finalised at Invada Studios in Bristol, showcases a darker, more expansive sound—combining cinematic sensibilities with the groove-led atmospherics of Low and Portishead.
The Actions now are pushing toward a stronger, more direct sonic and lyrical approach as they return with the single ‘Take More’, a sharp, suburban track that, since its March release, has been hand-picked for Rough Trade Counter Culture playlist, received a double airplay on BBC Introducing in the West, plus a number of press features including BrooklynVegan, Wax Music, Bizzarre, Babystep Magazine, Indie Is Not A Genre. Their sound now feels louder, leaner, and more confrontational—pulling their electronic roots into something closer to raw, restless urgency, with a new album, their third one, set to release on No Where Records.
