Barcelonian Manel Ruiz Lens aka SISTEMA, debuted his career in 1997 behind the decks of the mythical club Nitsa as Dj Ebola, right when Murmurtownlagloria collective moved to the Apolo theater. For the next 6 years, he was a resident Dj in the itinerant club of Moviedisco with the likes of Fra, Borja, and Pelucas. He shared decks with many European and American artists, such as Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, John Aquaviva, L.F.O., and many more that are now unavoidable references for new generations. Styles that embraced Ghetto House, Acid-House up to Intelligent (IDM), were the conducting trails of his sets.

SISTEMA has a production career cemented by more than 30 releases, from EP’s, compilations, or remixes to his LP that doesn’t stick to any conventional styles. His works are swayed by a wide range of musical interests while keeping a clear personal trait of high melodic content and an evocative spirit.
His uniqueness has allowed him to work with labels such as Bedrock, Traum Schallplatten, Gigolo, Factorcity, Paradigma or Pong, collaborate with Felix Da Housecat, play at the most respected festivals and clubs of the national scene (Sónar, Monegros, Moog, Offf…), and to offer his Dj and live sets in Beijing, Hong Kong, Brussels, Paris, Seoul, Buenos Aires, Munich, Frankfurt and Berlin to name a few. All this while being able to support one of his idols of the 80’s electronic pop music scene at the Apolo club, John Foxx.
